Police have arrested a motorist and launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Uxbridge.
A 50-year-old man from West Drayton died after his silver Suzuki motorcycle collided with a black Vauxhall Astra and a red Ford Fiesta on the A4020 Oxford Road, New Denham, at around 12.40pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 20).
Two ambulance crews, two ambulance officers, an emergency care practitioner and an air ambulance attended.
Paramedics fought to save the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said there had been no other injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 27-year-old man from West Drayton, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Officers closed part of the road from the Denham Roundabout following the accident, causing tailbacks.
Darshi Kirush, team leader at KFC, said some of her colleagues saw the crash.
She said: “We all went outside but at that time police came and ambulances also came. Nearly three or four hours they were doing emergency service work.
“This is the first time we've seen a crash happen. In nearly seven or eight months since we've been here it's the very first time we've had an accident.
“It's really horrible. Yesterday we were all crying because we saw that he [the motorcyclist] was alive and then he died.”
Ms Kirush said the restaurant's CCTV had not captured the collision.
Officers are appealing for anyone who either witnessed the crash or saw any of the three vehicles beforehand to come forward.
