I refer to the letter from former Labour councillor, Parmod Kad, which was critical of the current administration of the council and was particularly focused on me 'This Tory council is letting us down' (Chronicle, December 4).
I was surprised to read his letter as it was only just over six months ago that he was keen to give me advice about how to beat Labour at the next General Election.
Even more recently my work contributed towards an improvement in the appearance and safety of a site in Salisbury Road, which is a part of his former Cranford. While it should have been the three elected Labour councillors batting for their ward, I was more than happy to assist.
Most bizarre of all was his reference to a fence in a local park without saying where it was. As he lacks confidence in his local Labour council-lors, he can send me an email and let me know where this fence is and I will get the matter investigated.
I would suggest the same approach for the 'burnt-out dustbins' in Waye Avenue.
His other references to cuts were simplyvacuous, especially as it is this administration which has invested another £2million in improving leisure services in the borough. We have done this at the same time as freezing the level of council tax for twoyears running.
Were he to take a walk to the open space near Chester Road in his former ward, he would see a clear improvement in grass cutting and litter picking.
At the most recent meeting of the borough, all councillors acknowledged the major improvements in the standard of maintenance in our parks.
His response to this letter is a clear test of how motivated he is by the so-called 'cuts' that he raises.
