Liberal Democrat councillors have been asking residents for their views on introducing a 20mph zone in Southfield ward, covering Acton and Chiswick.
Cllr Gary Malcolm, in his getwestlondon column, said a lower speed limit "should reduce the number of people injured or killed on our streets" as well as making it "less stressful and safe" for those walking or cycling.
