TALENTED performers from Harrow and Brent are being called upon to take part in a mini-festival style showcase.

The aim is to give exposure to singers, dancers and musicians at mini-gigs on consecutive nights under the banner of the West London Show in two months' time.

Promoter Calvin Barretto, 36, said: “We want to promote local artists and acts from west London and create future opportunities for them as we're going to invite record bosses along.

“It's not going to cost applicants and once we get a shortlist, we're going to create a programme.

“A few bands are going to play, we're going to have some dancers and a DJ, and our sponsor Hayes FM is going to provide two presenters as our MCs on the evening.

“It's like a mini festival. People will have the opportunity to sit down and buy a drink and some food.”

The West London Show takes place between 6.30pm and 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday April 8 and 9 at Harrow Leisure Centre's Byron Hall in Christchurch Avenue, Wealdstone.

Each performer on the bill will be given a slot lasting between five and 15 minutes, meaning there will be between 20 and 25 acts each night.

Headlining both nights is dance duo Signature, who were runners-up on the second series of 'Britain's Got Talent', while 'The X Factor' boyband finalists FYD will perform on Friday only.

Mr Barretto, of Hounslow, said: “We want people from Harrow, Kenton, Uxbridge and Kenton and so on to come forward.

“We're looking for singers and dancers, DJs and bands, and we're going to select the best.”
