The Big Toddle fundraiser is back, and walkers in Hounslow have been challenged to beat the borough's 2014 total of more than £2,000.

The annual appeal has raised more than £13.83m since it was launched to help children's charity Barnardo's support the UK's most disadvantaged youngsters.

Last year, groups across London marched their way to more than £66,000, with 13 Toddle events in Chiswick and Hounslow netting a total of £2,159.50.

The theme for this year is pirates, and Barnardo's has called on local nurseries, parents and child minders to join in by donning their best nautical clobber and walking the suggested half a mile to add to that treasure chest.
