Upmarket superstore Waitrose is opening its 190th branch in Chiswick's High Street.

Waitrose, the food shop of the John Lewis Partnership, is to take over the High Street's Woolworths store and should be open by Christmas.

Managing Director of Waitrose, Mark Price, said: "We are delighted to be adding this prime site to our portfolio of shops, particularly as it is in our heartland, where residents have been requesting a Waitrose branch for many years."

Waitrose will also be opening three other London shops in the coming months, in Clapham, Edgeware Road and Islington.
