Older residents enjoyed a hot meal, mince pies and festive games at a Christmas party.

People from Kensington Day Centre and Quest Day Centre, Notting Hill, were invited to The Lighthouse in Ladbroke Grove on Friday last week (6).

Reena Mukherji, director of the Octavia Foundation which runs the care homes, said: “The annual Octavia Christmas party is a fantastic event, run for the local community, supported by local community businesses.

“For many of the guests it is the only Christmas meal they will receive and it’s a really nice occasion for the older residents from Octavia’s day centres and tenants in the borough to meet and enjoy themselves.”

Tenant Mary Weltch said: “I had the most grand day. I am 90 years-old so I don’t get out much but I really enjoyed the day.”

Guests were waited on by volunteers, played bingo and had the chance to win 30 prizes in the grand raffle.
They also received a festive goodie bag supplied by Sainsbury’s Local stores throughout the borough.
