Earlier this year Kensington and Chelsea Council negotiated a management agreement with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to manage Little Wormwood Scrubs for the next 20 years.

This provides us with a great opportunity to make lasting improvements to this important green space, enjoyed by many residents in north Kensington. I have been delighted to learn that Little Wormwood Scrubs has just been shortlisted as one of the Mayor of London's Priority Parks.

A total of £400,000 will be made available to each of the 10 finalists across London.

We need a huge borough-wide (and beyond) vote to stand any chance of success and I would be most grateful if your readers could find a few moments at this busy time to cast their vote for Little Wormwood Scrubs. At present 47 parks are in the frame and the final allocation will be determined by a public vote. Votes must be cast by January 30, 2009. See http://www.london.gov.uk/parksvote/region/northwest/

You can also request a postal vote form by calling the Public Liaison Unit on 020 7983 4100.
