PARLIAMENTARY hopefuls for the Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner constituency faced a grilling from voters last Monday (April 26).

An eager audience of more than 140 people questioned Conservative candidate Nick Hurd, who is defending his seat, as well as Labour candidate Anita Macdonald and Tom Papworth, standing for the Liberal Democrats.

A range of topics were discussed, from education and the economy to the elderly, house prices, climate change, world aid, Afghanistan and detention centres.

The event, which took place at Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue, in Oaklands Gate, Northwood, was organised by the Hillingdon Inter Faith Network, which aims to engage people within the faith community in politics.
