A toddler group in Hanworth is urgently seeking volunteers to save it from being shut down.

The NSPCC west London Service Centre, at Swan House, has been running fun-filled toddler and parent sessions for the past two years, but is now facing closure unless it can get at least two volunteers to help run the weekly group.

As many as eight families come along to the free session every Wednesday morning but, due to a low number of volunteers, staff at the centre are having to make the difficult decision to possibly close the group.

Alison Stewart Ross, NSPCC west London Service Centre manager, said: “We are having to make the difficult decision to possibly close the group if we don’t find at least one or two volunteers to help run the sessions."

She added: "We are looking for people to help out at these sessions every Wednesday during term time between 9.00am and 11.30am, and help our staff to meet with the parents and children and run play activities.

“It’s been wonderful to see the centre being used by a community group, we have regular parents and carers attending with their children and it’s such a lovely atmosphere and we’d be really sorry to see it go."
