Family and friends left dozens of flowers and messages in memory of a pregnant mother who fell to her death.

The 30-year-old, named locally as Georgina Drinkwater, was killed almost instantly after falling from a third-floor balcony overlooking Harrow Road, Queen’s Park.

Police from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating. Officers are treating her death as suspicious but have not yet launched a full murder investigation.

It is understood Ms Drinkwater, whose nickname was Georgina China, was five months pregnant with her third child and had two daughters.

Police were seen inspecting the third-floor balcony for clues on Tuesday morning (see video below).

One message read (sic): “George, I’m so annoyed your gone, but I promise I will look out for your gorjus girls, I swear to that. Miss u always.”

Another note said: “Rest in perfect peace China. Sadly missed by all. Gone but never forgotten.”

A witness, who asked not to be named, said: “I knew her. She was five-months pregnant and had two other children. It’s so sad. She seemed so happy.”

Police were called to Orpheus House, which is managed by Genesis housing association, at 3am on Sunday (23). Paramedics were unable to save Ms Drinkwater and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem is due to take place today and formal identification tomorrow. Next of kin have been informed.
