STAR street dancers Chris and Wes are set to become household names with the airing of their TV show, and they gave viewers a taster of what to expect with a priceless gag.

Chris Donnelly told the Gazette: “This year has been the most important year of our lives, and 2012 will be about taking it to the next level.”

The cheeky chaps, both 21 and from Hayes, shot to fame after being crowned champions of Sky 1 show Got To Dance in February, and a 10-part documentary series, Chris and Wes: Let’s Do This, premiered on December 19.

The show follows the boys’ lives after their whirlwind rise to stardom and features dance tutorials and skits.

Ahead of the first show, they appeared on Got To Dance: The Warm Up, on December 18 as Beth and Pearl, morris-dancing hopefuls auditioning for the star judging panel.

After an underwhelming routine in character, they launched into their signature ‘spray-paint’ body-popping move, which had the judges in hysterics after realising they had been fooled.

Host Davina McCall praised the boys, saying that they were ‘proper, old school entertainers’.

Chris told the Gazette: “We just think of ourselves as dancers, so we’re proud to see that people are taking notice of what we are doing.”

The number of people following the boys on Twitter has sky-rocketed since the show premiered.

Chris added that 2012 was already shaping up to be a busy year.

“We have been taking it easy and catching up with friends and family over the holidays, but we’ll be back with a bang.”

The show’s final episode is on Friday on Sky 1 at 6pm.
