The group behind Liquid nightclub in Uxbridge has given thousands to Hillingdon Hospital , funding new equipment on their paediatric unit.

Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust received a generous donation of £3,360 from the Echo Trust, a registered charity created by Deltic Group Limited, with the purpose of helping sick children and young adults.

It provides grants to childrens’ charities across the UK to provide essential medical equipment, from donations are raised at bars and clubs owned and operated by Deltic Group, who have outlets across the UK.

Liquid nightclub in Uxbridge has nominated the Trust’s paediatric unit to receive this donation.

Beth Rogers, manager of Liquid, said: “The donation is a way of giving back to our local community.

“We hold regular collections at the club and we nominated the hospital to benefit because of the amazing work it does to help sick children and their families.”

Hillingdon Hospital will now be able to buy two crucial pieces of equipment for their paediatric ward.

The first is an oxygen saturation monitor, which will be used on a daily basis, to determine if children are having difficulty breathing or maintaining their body oxygen levels.

The second piece of equipment to be purchased will be a Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) machine, which allows children to safely administer their own pain relief when they need it.

Chris Mann, Matron and Nursing Services Manager for Paediatrics, said: “The patients and staff in the paediatric unit at the Hillingdon Hospital would like to say a big thank you to Echo and Liquid Uxbridge for their generous donation.

“We really value their support and will be using this money to buy two very special pieces of kit.”
