A BLAZE which destroyed a shed and part of two roofs in Feltham has been blamed on a cigarette.

London Fire Brigade were called to the fire in Lewin Terrace, Feltham on Monday just before 2:45pm after a person from the house managed to escape unscathed.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to the scene and managed to get the fire under control by 4:12pm.

The fire brigade confirmed part of the roof where the fire started had been damaged, as well as a section of an adjoining terraced house and an entire shed had been destroyed after the fire was started by the careless disposal of a cigarette, they believe.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade, said: “The fire is believed to have been caused by the careless disposal of a cigarette. You should always make sure cigarettes are completely out after use.”
