The date has been set for Harrow's favourite day in the calendar, Under One Sky.

The council-organised one-day annual festival is always a fantastic day, allowing community groups and charities the opportunity to showcase their talents and services.

Under One Sky, to be held at Byron Park in Belmont Road, Wealdstone, on Sunday, September 21, has a special twist this year, however, as the borough marks the 60th anniversary of Harrow as a part of London.

Cabinet member for community, culture and resident engagement Councillor Sue Anderson (Labour) said: “Under One Sky is for the whole community to come together and celebrate our rich diversity and culture.

"This year’s event is unique as we mark the borough’s 60th anniversary so we’ll be celebrating Harrow living under one sky since 1954.

"We will have a fantastic line up of acts consisting of community groups, sports, vintage cars and much more. There will be something for everyone.

"So save the date and be sure of a great day out for the whole family to celebrate and join in on fun.”

The event will be free and packed with music, parades, sporting activities, lovely food and dance, and a special tribute to the anniversary theme will be provided by Edgware charity Flash Musicals, whose 1950s themed ‘All Our Yesterdays’ performance, alongside swing dance, arts and crafts, fancy dress and vintage cars will ensure that celebrating Harrow’s Diamond Jubilee will be a day to remember.
