Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found unconscious with a broken jaw outside a pub.

Paul Elliot, 36, was discovered outside the Balkan Bar on Portobello Road, Notting Hill in the early hours of Friday November 28.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service were called at approximately 12:35am where he was taken to a central London hospital suffering a broken jaw and severe brain injury.

He currently remains in a critical condition.

Hammersmith and Fulham Police have returned to the scene and distributed posters and leaflets urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Karen Gilmour, of CID at Hammersmith and Fulham, said: "It is still unclear what events took place prior to the discovery of this unconscious man.

"We do understand that Paul had been out socialising with a friend at the Balkan Bar prior to his collapse.

"It is not yet known whether Paul was assaulted or in some way involved in a dispute earlier that evening."
