An investigation is under way into a fierce blaze that scorched the ground floor of a house in Brentford in the early hours of Friday morning.
Four fire engines and around 20 fire fighters from Chiswick, Heston, and Ealing fire stations reached the scene in Lateward Road after a call at 3.08am and it took them nearly 40 minutes to control the furnace.
The fire fighters rescued two people from the flames and a third escaped before the crews arrived.
A 30-year-old male and a 50-year-old female were taken to West Middlesex Hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation. They have since been discharged without lasting damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
