Two men arrested after a suspected gang shooting in Hounslow have been bailed to return for questioning.

One man was taken to hospital with gunshot injuries last Thursday (June 19) after two shots were fired in Midsummer Avenue, Hounslow, at about 8pm.

Police today said the 19-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm, had been discharged from hospital and bailed to return for police questioning at a date in August.

A 22-year-old also arrested last Thursday on suspicion of the same offence has also been bailed to return for further questioning.

The shooting is being investigated by Trident Gang Crime Command, which tackles gang violence in the capital.

People living on the street, near Hounslow Heath, last week told how there had been long-running issues with drug dealing on their estate, though it is not known whether this is linked with the shooting.
