FURTHER details about the robbery at a Hayes travel agents yesterday (July 6) morning have been released.

Police were called to Thomas Cook, in Station Road, at 10.30am to reports of an armed robbery.

According to witnesses, two men, both described as being black and in their late 20s, entered the branch and one threatened staff with what is believed to be a small handgun.

The pair made off with cash, and they were seen going towards Botwell Lane, before making off in a car which has yet to be traced.

Police had the area cordoned off, and the store was closed while enquiries continued. Thomas Cook re-opened with cover staff today (July 7).

No one was injured during the robbery, and no arrests have been made.
