An application to extend the licensing hours of a nightclub with a history of noise disturbance has been withdrawn.

The hearing to make changes at The Tudor Rose in The Green, Southall, was scheduled to take place at Ealing Council’s licensing committee meeting on Wednesday, but it did not go ahead and it is not known if the applicant intends to resubmit the application.

Neighbours signed a petition against the extension, saying that before police restricted opening hours in 2011 they were routinely woken in the early hours by people leaving the club.

They said they felt intimidated walking or driving nearby.

The council’s noise and nuisance team strongly objected to the extension too, saying they have had noise complaints since 2004.

The proposal, by premises licence holder Ursula James, was to extend opening hours
to 6.30am seven days a week, instead of the current 2.30am limit from Sunday to Thursday and 3am on Friday and Saturday.
