DOZENS of bunches of flowers have been laid at Hayes and Harlington station in memory of Tony Martinez, who died after being struck by a train.

Mr Martinez, who was 20 and believed to be from Uxbridge, was hit by a train at the railway station at about 5pm on Tuesday.

Friends gathered yesterday evening (Wednesday) for a wake at the adopted memorial site, at the station's car park entrance, and empty bottles of Hennessy and Courvoisier cognac, and Jack Daniels whiskey were left amongst the bouquets.

Some of the written tributes are made out to 'Zite', Mr Martinez's graffiti name.

One message says: "I'm gonna miss you so much bro. You know your my blood, my hearts broken. Love you bro, Jordan."

A heartfelt letter from Amy and Charlotte Bundy reads: "I can't believe I'm never gonna see your cheeky smile again.

"For the years we have known you, you have never failed to make us laugh. Our memories will live on forever.

"Gone but not forgotten. RIP Zite."
