A man on the roof of a busy train and underground stop in North West London with rush hour approaching was talked down by police after the station was brought to a standstill.

Police managed to talk the man into coming down from the roof at Harrow and Wealdstone station by 5.36pm after trains were delayed, with frustrated commuters tweeting their outrage.

The London Midland twitter account described the man as a 'trespasser'.

The power line was cut by officials as a safety measure, but trains are now understood to be running smoothly with a good service on all lines.
