SCORES of families were in Ealing town centre to watch the third annual tree lighting.
More than 100 people turned up to see the 40ft tree illuminated in the grounds of Christ the Saviour Church last Thursday evening.
The Mayor of Ealing, Barbara Yerolemou, gave a speech of welcome before doing the honours and switching on the lights.
Rock Choir, famed for their original pop, gospel and Motown sound, sang Christmas songs while guests enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine.
Father Christmas was there and Helen Bid, of Ealing Business Improvement District, said a great time was had by all.
"Rock Choir were really good and definitely warmed up the crowds," she said. "So many people attended and there was a really nice community feel - and it didn't rain, which was great.
"We would like to say a big thank-you to Tesco for supplying the food and wine and hope everyone enjoys the lights on the tree in the church grounds."
