Two drivers were rushed to West Mid on Sunday morning after a police car plowed into a minicab in Feltham
A marked car containing two British Transport Police (BTP) officers hit the cab on Harlington Road West at around 2am as they hurried to an incident at Feltham railway station.
The police car struck a green Seat estate at a set of traffic lights causing it to overturn. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries. The officer who was a passenger in the BTP vehicle was uninjured
A witness to the crash, who did not wish to be named, said the Seat had been struck side on, rolled and come to halt 70 feet away on it's roof
He added: "The driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and looked shaken. It's lucky he didn't have any passengers in his cab.
A BTP spokeswoman said: "The member of the public suffered minor injuries in the incident and the BTP officer who had been driving suffered minor whiplash injuries.
"A BTP internal investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
