Traffic around Hammersmith Broadway has cleared up now following the discovery of a suspicious object.

Police confirmed they were called to the junction of Fulham Palace Road, just outside the Broadway at 2:17pm today (July 22) to reports of a suspicious object.

They cordoned off the area and closed Fulham Palace Road and Queen Caroline Street outside the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo.

A contractor working underneath the Hammersmith Flyover told getwestlondon they were suddenly told to move by police to the side, near the Apollo. "We were just told to move, they didn't tell us why but hopefully we can get back to work soon," he said.

Traffic built up all around the Broadway with Shepherd's Bush Road blocked up all the way to Shepherd's Bush Green and along Talgarth Road to the Warwick Road junction.

The Police dog unit was at the scene and traffic was allowed to flow around Hammersmith Gyratory at around 3:30pm.
