Students got an insight into the world of politics as an MP dropped by to tell them about his job.

Bob Blackman, MP for Harrow East, visited pupils who sit on the School Council at Whitefriars Community School, in Whitefriars Avenue, Wealdstone, to tell him about what the role of being an elected member of parliament entails.

He said: "The children were very curious about the role of an MP and so I was pleased to be able to answer their questions and encourage them to learn more about politics as a career path.

"Issues facing the school, including future expansion and car parking pressures, were also raised and I think it proved to be a valuable and productive visit.”
