The owner of a Pinner hair salon has been crowned the Creative Talent title at a recent award ceremony hosted by comedian and actor Jack Whitehall.

The D&J Ambrose salon in Bridge Street, Pinner are celebrating after Darren Ambrose clinched the Creative Talent title at Creative Head’s Most Wanted Awards, held at London’s Tate Modern gallery on September 1.

Now in its 13th year, the Most Wanted awards are judged by hair, fashion and business icons, and attracted VIP guests such as the beauty and health editor of Vogue, Jessica Diner and Millie Kendall MBE, co founder of BeautyMART.

The 2014 Creative Talent category was judged by a panel of experts, the judges were impressed by Darren’s applied creativity – his analysis of all aspects of a creative idea in-depth, from money-making opportunities to how clients will benefit.

Creative HEAD publisher, Catherine Handcock said: “Creativity is arguably in the blood of every hairdresser, but Darren is a driven, passionate stylist who has it in spades. What’s even more impressive is the way he puts his left-field thinking to good use in all areas of the business.”

Darren said: “The Tate Modern was an amazing choice of venue to celebrate an industry so connected with fashion and art, and what an amazing vibe, to have dinner overlooking the Turbine Hall! It was the perfect setting for this creative evening rewarding talented people within the hair industry. Winning Creative Talent was a huge surprise and incredible honour.

Earlier this year, Darren was nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year Award , the results will be announced in November.
