A top streetdance group in Brentford has appealed for help in its search for a permanent home.

Alliance Dance Unit was set up by Torron-Lee Dewar when he was just 16 to offer youngsters on his estate an alternative to crime.

Five years later, it has more than 80 members, has just launched three classes to accommodate those on its lengthy waiting list and is preparing to compete in next month's national streetdance championships.

But the troupe, which currently holds lessons and rehearsals at Watermans, in Brentford High Street, is struggling to find a place to call its own.

Mr Dewar, who carried the Olympic torch in 2012 , this week urged anyone who owned or knew of a room which was available in the area to get in touch.

"We just need somewhere big enough to accommodate 15 dancers, whether that's in a disused building or a spare room in an office block," he said.

"We're looking for anywhere available at a reasonable rent within Brentford because that's where our roots are and most of our clients live. We've looked at a few places but it hasn't panned out and we're growing quite frustrated."
