PROPERTY prices near the Jubilee line have proven to be the most resilient to the economic downturn, according to new research.

Nine out of the 10 areas in a league table produced by property website, www.Zoopla.co.uk , have NW postcodes.

Experts say the large number of family homes in the area and transport links to the West End, the City and Docklands on the Jubilee line have helped the prices recover faster.

Among the 10 postcodes on the list that have hit the Jubilee line jackpot are NW2, served by Dollis Hill and Neasden stations; NW6 near Kilburn station; and NW10, near Willesden Green station.

Properties in NW2 are up 3.3 per cent since September 2007, to an average price of £405,375. Pensioner Jack Sayers, of Howard Road,

Cricklewood and has a NW2 postcode, said: "You have to be a millionaire to live in Cricklewood at the moment. I just feel sorry for all the young people who cannot get on the property ladder in the area."

Ironically Wembley, which is also on the Jubilee line, was one of the 'least resilient' housing markets with property prices, dropping 6.14 per cent since 2007. The average property price in Wembley is now £257,417, according to the research.
