On January 9 your journalist, Ellie Dyer, made a number of predictions about life in the Royal Borough.

She claimed that she would "eat her hat if the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) was still in existence at the end of the year".

At the TMO's Annual General Meeting last week, 115 members of the Company voted on a resolution that the TMO should continue to manage the council's housing stock on behalf of the Royal Borough.

The TMO has indicated that it has around 4,500 members which means that only 2.6 per cent of the TMO's membership have expressed a view on the future of tenant management in the Royal Borough.

This is hardly a ringing endorsement for representative democracy given that an overwhelming 97.4 per cent of the organisation didn't vote on this important issue. I think Ellie Dyer can rest easy, safe in the knowledge that she will not have to perform the media stunt which she promises.
