YOUR headline on last week's My Ealing page was Helen Pinney's question 'Did Ho Chi Minh work at my pub?' (the Drayton Court in West Ealing). Yes, Helen, he did.

Details are vague, but he worked in the kitchens around 1913 when the Drayton Court was a hotel, and lived on the premises, before moving on to another hotel in central London. Put "Ho Chi Minh Ealing" into Google

and it will take you to a BBC page with more information.

We're very interested in the story at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College, as we have more Vietnamese students than any other college in the country. I'm hoping that either English Heritage or Ealing Civic Society will put up a plaque to commemorate the Drayton Court's association with one of the most important political figures of the last 50 years.
