IN PREVIOUS letters, I have made no secret that I support the relocation of West Thames College Skills Centre in Boundaries Road to a more suitable site in Feltham High Street.

On June 3, the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) issued what can only be described as a warning that funding of all projects will need to meet new prioritisation criteria outlined in a document called the 'Further Education Capital Programme'.

I have confidence that the West Thames College case for funding will meet all the criteria and be presented in a professional way.

Alan Keen, MP for Feltham and Heston, has been lobbying the LSC over this matter because he believes in the importance of this project on education and the effect it will have on the whole of the borough.

The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, when pressed about LSC funding at PMQs (Prime Minister's Questions) on June 10 indicated the importance that projects go ahead, but didn't say that endless funding was available.

So this is a call to all of those in the London Borough of Hounslow, from Chiswick to Bedfont, Cranford to Isleworth, to lobby the LSC about this issue.

This is not a party political issue but an issue about the best education for the students of the borough, so I hope Liberal, Labour and Conservatives will unite over this matter and help secure the funding needed.
