TWO men suffered head wounds, with one needing hospital treatment, when armed thugs stormed a post office in the middle of the day.

The three raiders burst into the shop in Horn lane, Acton at about 12pm on Tuesday.

A 29-year-old victim had to be taken to Central Middlesex Hospital but has since been discharged.

The post office was closed the following day.

Safaear Razaq, who works at the Balti House Indian Takeaway next door, said: "It was three guys. They had a gun and took some money.

"One of the post office guys looked badly hurt. He had blood all over his face, he was bleeding from his forehead, his cheek and his nose. I gave him some tissues so he could clean himself up."

Police would not say how the victims were injured or if any money was taken.

The thugs are black, male, about 20 to 25 and all wore hooded jackets with baseball caps.
