A toddler has been rushed to hospital after an accident involving a car in Hanworth .

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) treated a boy reported to be three-years-old at Towfield Road, who was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.

The road traffic collision has closed off Saxon Avenue in Hanworth at the Towfield Road junction.

A LAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 3.45pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrian to Towfield Road.

"Staff treated a boy reported to be three.

"He was taken by air to Royal London Hospital."

The ambulance service sent one responder in a car, one ambulance crew, a duty officer and the London Air Ambulance.

Update: Police have told the Chronicle the toddler is recovering
