THREE people have been rescued from a building fire in Parkfield Avenue in Hillingdon.

Forty firefighters tackled the blaze, which broke out at about 7.15am.

The roof of the building, which contains flats and shop Peri Dise, was alight.

Ten people were evacuated from neighbouring properties. 

The fire is now out but crews remain on the scene this afternoon (Monday). 

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: "Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus have rescued two people from the first floor and another person from the ground floor.

"The cause of the fire is not known at this stage."
