Three men have been sentenced for murdering a man in a ‘vicious attack’ after an argument in Ealing.
Taqui Khezihi, 21, of Ealing, was stabbed to death in August last year and today (March 31) the three culprits were sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Alex Henry, 21, of Homefarm Road, and Janhelle Grant-Murray, 20, of Upfield Road, were each given a minimum term of 19 years after being found guilty of murdering Mr Khezihi, and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm (GBH) to the victim’s brother.
Cameron Ferguson, 20, of Ranelagh Road, Southall, had previously pleaded guilty to murder and GBH and received a total of 26 years imprisonment.
The men were convicted at the Old Bailey on March 12 for stabbing Mr Khezihi.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Simon Deefholts, from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: “This was a vicious attack sparked by nothing more than a trivial argument. Grant-Murray instigated a confrontation which erupted into violence when his associates, Henry and Ferguson - at least one of whom was armed with a knife - arrived at the scene.
“Sadly, Taqui didn’t stand a chance such was the severity of his injury and he bled to death. The jury have found that although not all of them had knives they were equally responsible for Taqui’s murder.”
Last August 6, the victim and his brother were with friends in Ealing before Grant-Murray came across them in Northcote Avenue. An argument began and the defendant was heard on the phone saying ‘bring a knife’ or ‘bring the knives’.
When the two other defendants approached, one or both of them were armed with knives and the three stabbed both Mr Khezihi and his brother in the back before running off.
The victims fled the scene in a blue car at about 3.15pm and drove to Acton where they pulled over in front of an ambulance in Gunnersbury Lane, near to the Red Lion and Pineapple pub. Despite paramedics rendering first aid, Mr Khezihi’s injuries were too severe and he bled to death within moments. His brother went on to make a full recovery.
