I have passed the ice rink outside the civic centre every day since it opened, and am hugely disappointed.

It is too small, and very overpriced. Skating at Slough is much cheaper.

At £7.50 for adults and £6 for children, what family can afford to use it? I am also worried that, as a council tax payer, I will end up paying the losses incurred to set this up, as each time I pass by there is no one on the ice except the staff employed to work there.

Can someone from the local authority tell us how much this non-event has cost the tax payer?

I should add that the noise from the blaring pop music has also spoiled this part of Uxbridge. Why do the ice rink staff have to have the music on when no one is using the rink?

Maybe it is the music putting people off. How about some nice classical, or even some Christmas carols?
