I HAVE just heard that a man who had lost his job as a computer specialist because he was not very good at it has found a new job sorting out the computers controlling baggage handling at Heathrow Terminal 5.

I also keep hearing that Community Initiative Partnership staff in Hounslow are about to become redundant, allegedly for not doing a very good job.

The Government also appears to be unhappy with the way BAA runs airports. Perhaps it would save much strife and domestic tension if the redundant CIP staff were put in charge of running Terminal 5.

It seems to me that leaving grass uncut and litter bins unemptied are minor misdemeanours compared to losing the luggage of half the population, so this could be well worth a try!
