WITH reference to your story in the Hounslow Chronicle of June 11. I agree, Hounslow is a dump. While the High Street and pedestrian precinct are kept clean, the back streets are used as rubbish tips.

On Monday and Wednesday last week, I walked down the Hanworth Road from M&S to the bus station. From the back of the HSBC bank to the old Brentford Nylons store, all I saw were piles and piles of rubbish, in defiance of any health and safety laws.

I guess that, while the frontages of these High Street businesses are regularly swept and cleared by the council, the backyards are not, and are openly used for dumping.
