I felt I had to write to you regarding our recent visit to West Middlesex Hospital, beginning in A&E and ending up on the children's ward (Starlight Ward). With lots of bad press regarding our NHS Hospitals, I wanted to talk about our experience, which was a thoroughly positive experience.

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to all of the staff we came into contact with during our almost week-long visit. This includes those in A&E, Starlight Ward, ENT, Children's Play/Learning team, Radiology (Ultrasound), the MRI department and the porters.

Our six-year-old son, Lewis, was admitted with a lump/swelling on his neck. All of the staff at West Mid made us feel reassured with kindness. They were lovely with Lewis, putting him at ease and making it feel like a holiday for him.

The Starlight ward is in need of donations of toys, videos, computer games and DVDs for all age groups as they make such a difference to the boys and girls staying on the ward. We are in the process of sorting through our children's old toys to donate as many as we can and perhaps if anyone else reads this, they could do the same.

Thanks again West Mid staff.
