I REFER to the letter from Gwen Dearsley published on June 11 regarding the Eastcote Residents' Association [An association to be proud of].

Through the pages of the Gazette I would like to thank Ms Dearsley most sincerely for her eloquent letter acknowledging the work of the Eastcote Residents' Association.

The committee are not professionals and are not paid, but they put in a great deal of hard work to try to make Eastcote a better place to live.

As commented by Ms Dearsley, I would like to thank our MP and all our councillors for their support throughout the year.

The Residents' Association is nonpolitical and all local residents are welcome to take part. Why not come along to our next meeting?

Our meetings are held at the Elsie Fisher Room at St Lawrence Church at 7.30pm. Our next meetings are on June 25 and July 30.

CHRIS GROOM, chairman, ERA, Field End Road, Eastcote.
