WHY are Tesco waiting [Morrison's in, Tesco not out, Uxbridge Gazette, November 5].

Because the London Borough of Hillingdon has not yet issued a planning notice. A bit worrying this since the decision was made back in May.

The Yiewsley Community Involvement Group have complicated things by asking for a 'call in'.

However we knew this was not happening in July.

The council has to inform us when the notice is issued because it has been informed that we wish to enter a Judicial Review case against it.

This will stop any building while that goes through the High Court.

I assume that LBH have not yet agreed the S106 agreement and conditions with Tesco and that until that is sorted we will be left to wait.

I do think Morrisons will be a real boost to the town.

We also have 2,000sq m of store in the Gordon's block and the five small shops being built.

None of this was included in the calculations on retail impact of Tesco.

None of the new information was discussed with the council because they refused to meet the community groups to discuss their concerns.

That is only one of the grounds for Judicial Review.

We have a strong case and the battle is not over.

It's just such a shame that the council did not back the community this time and investigate this application properly.
