Two Ealing Tesco stores are offering a helping hand to their local community with the launch of a new competition.

The Tesco Metro store, based at the Broadway Shopping Centre in Ealing and the Tesco Express store at The Parade, in Haven Green, have teamed up to run a Helping Hand competition which will offer community groups and charities the chance to win a share of £2,000.

Shoppers at both stores will be able to nominate local worthwhile causes who they feel deserve a little extra help.

Manager of the Tesco Metro Ealing Broadway store, James Moss, said: “The Helping Hand competition is a really exciting opportunity for our customers to have their say and let us know where they feel we should offer some support.

“Playing a positive role within our local community is important to us so I’m really looking forward to seeing the nominations from our customers and getting to know more about worthwhile causes in our area”.

The competition launched at both stores Monday January 12 and will close on Sunday February 8. Once the voting is closed, Mr Moss will get together with Tesco Express Haven Green Ealing store manager, Justyna Ezekwe, to go through all the nominations and pick their winners.

Mr Moss added: “Starting the year with £2,000 to give away to local causes is fantastic and is a great way for us to mark our commitment to the local community for the year to come.

“The prize fund could all be donated to one organisation or split between several good causes, so we hope that customers come forward and let us know about local organisations that are close to their hearts”.

The winning organisations can use their share of the donation as they wish, whether it be to help fund an event, buy new equipment or pay for redecoration works.

Customers will be able to collect nomination forms at both the Tesco Express Haven Green store and the Tesco Metro Ealing Broadway store and once completed, deposit them in an entry box based at the Customer Service desks at either store.
