Television presenter Wendy Turner-Webster is due to open the children's charity autumn fete in Hanworth next week.

Families will join the former Pet Rescue presenter and author in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Crane Park children's centre where the NSPCC West London service centre will celebrate its second anniversary on Friday October 3.

The joint venture include an afternoon of fun and games and the chance for parents to find out more about services of both centre's and shop at stalls selling handmade cards, books, and jewellery while children can enjoy face painting, popcorn and candy floss.

Councillor Tom Bruce, cabinet member for education and children’s services at the council said: “Both the children’s centre and the NSPCC are doing wonderful work in the local community, and I hope as many people as possible can get along to the fete to have fun and find out about the services on offer.”

Alison Stewart-Ross, NSPCC West London service centre manager said: “We are committed to providing the local community with help and support through the various programmes we offer.

"We do not work alone and over the past two years have formed close links with statutory agencies and other vital stakeholders, to ensure that learning from our services has a long-term impact for children and young people.

"To this extent teaming up with Crane Park Children’s centre is vital to make people aware of the services and support offered in this area.”

Crane Park children's centre offers people in the community with children under five a range of free services including stay and play sessions, story and rhyme time, parenting support and more.

The event is free for children and 50p for adults and will be held at the children's centre on Norman Avenue from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Some funds raised will go to the NSPCC centre towards providing services.
