A young woman was savagely attacked and bitten as she left a nightclub, resulting in a permanent scar.

The 18-year-old victim was leaving Pryzm Nightclub, in Eden Street, Kingston, when she was approached by an unknown man.

He then put her in a headlock and brutally bit her face so hard, she needed immediate medical attention.

Months later and she is left with a permanent, jaw-shaped scar in the middle of her face.

Detectives in Kingston are "urgently" attempting to trace the unknown male after he launched a vicious assault at around 3.30am on Sunday June 25.

No arrests have been made and Metropolitan Police is treating the incident as grievous bodily harm.

Detective Constable Robert Wise, the investigating officer from Kingston CID, said: "This was a savage attack that has left a young girl with a permanent scar; we urgently want to find the person responsible.

"There would have been many people who witnessed this horrible assault and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police."

The attacker is described as a blond-haired white male.
