A TEENAGE girl who suffered critical injuries in a collision with a car in Northolt last week has died, police confirmed.

The 17-year-old was injured by a blue Toyota Aygo car in Petts Hill, at the junction with Wood End Lane, Northolt, at about 1pm on Friday. The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

She was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital for treatment to head injuries but died in hospital, just after 3pm.

Next of kin have been informed and a post mortem will be scheduled in due course.

DC Jim Hastings of the Road Death Investigation Unit said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Petts Hill around the time of the collision to come forward and speak to our officers. We are trying to build up a picture of the events leading up the collision, and of the collision itself. If you saw or heard anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please contact us as your information may prove vital in piecing together the events of this tragic incident."

Officers from the Met's Road Death Investigation Unit based at Alperton investigate and appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact their witness appeal line on 0208 842 1817.

No arrests, inquiries continue.
