A teaching assistant has admitted engaging in sexual activity with a teenage girl.

Commonwealth Games athlete and former teaching assistant Kevin Sempers, changed his plea on the second day of his trial at Isleworth Crown Court. He will be sentenced on Friday, November 28, four days after his 29th birthday.

The decathlete, who narrowly missed out on a bronze medal at the 2010 Delhi games when he represented England, has been remanded in custody pending sentence.

Sempers, from Uxbridge, faced a single charge of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15 years old when he appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, October 13. He denied the charge.

But the very next day, he admitted the offence, making a full trial unnecessary.

Sempers, will probably face a jail sentence when he is sentenced next week and will have to sign the sex offenders’ register.
