A tattoo parlour has raised more than £800 for charity by inking hearts on customers.

Tony Bonette and staff at his Altered Image studio, in Hanworth Road, Hanworth, offered to pen a range of heart symbols last Friday (February 7) in exchange for donations to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

They were working until 8.30pm that night, completing more than 30 tattoos and raising £830 for the charity.

Such was the demand, they have extended the offer until the end of the month and hope to break the £1,000 barrier. Customers can donate £25 or £30 in return for one of a range of heart designs.

"I was delighted by the response and it was a really fun day. There were loads of people who wanted one of the tattoos but we had to turn them away eventually because we were too knackered," said Mr Bonette.

The offer was made as part of BHF's Ramp Up The Red fundraising day last Friday. Mr Bonette chose to support the charity in memory of his brother-in-law Lawrence Wade, who died suddenly of a heart attack a decade ago.
