One talented school pupil has won a competition to have his own festive card created.

Chandra Varsani, 11, from Kenmore Park Middle School, in Moorhouse Road, is having his design used as the official Christmas card of Tony McNulty, MP for Harrow East.

Mr McNulty announced the winner at a special event at the schools in December 5.

Pupils from the school and Kenmore Park First School took part in the competition, which was launched in November. For the past month students across the school worked during class and at home with the hope of seeing their winning designs made into a card.

Deputy head Sunil Murji said: "It was a really nice event.

"The pupils were all really nervous as they waited for the winners to be announced, but they were very excited."

"Unfortunately, the winner was away. I think he would have rather have been in the photo as he was doing an exam that day, but he was very excited when he found out and he got a signed card from Mr McNulty."

MP for Harrow East Tony McNulty said: "I would like to thank all the children at Kenmore Park who took part in this year's competition.

"There were some excellent entries, so it was really hard to choose the winner."
