I’m in Wales listening to a singing competition and I’ve just heard there’s going to be an airshow taking place overhead, at the same time. Not exactly what the competition’s organisers had in mind, I suspect. Not everything always goes to plan.
One of my cats has been busy hatching plans of his own. I hate to say this but the stray cat I recently adopted is turning into a bully – constantly positioning himself strategically so he can ambush others. Just like an aircraft, he has finely tuned his interception technique. Great fun for him but not anyone else.
If bullying behaviour rings bells with other readers in multi-cat households, catchat.org has useful advice. At present, I’m at the stage of having plenty of feeding bowls and sleeping areas around the house so reducing competition for facilities. Everyone’s safe at the moment, he’s occupying himself killing a particularly large paperclip.
Unplanned pregnancies are Lucie’s speciality. This beautiful cat is only 18-months-old but has already had two litters of kittens.
When she came into the care of the RSPCA last December, she had given birth nine-weeks previously and was already pregnant with her next litter – six more kittens being born in February.
Now her kittens have been homed and she’s been neutered, she’s looking for a home herself.
Lucie is friendly and has the most gorgeous tortoiseshell and white markings.
If you would like to home her, she’s waiting for you at Southall Cat Adoption Centre, Burket Close, UB2 4JS or call 0300 123 0746.
